COLUMBUS — Gov. John R. Kasich last month appointed one of his former colleagues in Congress as chairperson of the Liquor Control Commission.

Deborah Pryce, a Republican from Upper Arlington, will serve a Liquor Commission term expiring Feb. 8, 2017. She replaces Robert A. Gardner, whose term expired on Feb. 8, and supplants Michael J. Shaheen as commission chair; Shaheen has two years remaining on his commission term. Paul M. Booth retains his position as commission vice chairman.
