Spanning the centuries, the tavern is the common link between all nations and all peoples.

As the settlers crossed the Atlantic to find a new home in a new world, they brought with them the tradition of the English pub. Typically, the first two structures built in any Colonial settlement were the church and the tavern. Quite often, tavern licenses were issued on the understanding that the tavern be built near the church.
