WOOSTER — A Pinot Gris made from northern Ohio grapes by a southern Ohio winery was the top entry in the 2011 Ohio Wine Competition.

The 2010 Lake Erie Pinot Gris from Burnet Ridge Winery topped more than 260 other entries in the recent competition to claim “Overall Best of Show.” The wine from the North College Hill winery also won a concordance gold medal, one of 12 wines deemed by all 10 judges to be worthy of a gold medal.
