Bills Lift Limits On A-3A Permits

COLUMBUS — Legislation introduced this month in the Ohio General Assembly would remove limitations on liquor permits issued to small distilleries.
Identical measures, House Bill 243 and Senate Bill 180, would eliminate both quota and population restrictions on the issuance of A-3A permits. The bills require issuance of the permit to comply with local options.
Currently, issuance of the A-3A is limited to a single permit per county with a population of more than 800,000, restricting them to Cuyahoga, Franklin and Hamilton counties only.
