SAD NEWS — Charles Joseph Koch Jr., father of Boston Beer Co. founder Jim Koch, died last month at the age of 88 at the family farm in Georgetown, Ohio.  He was born in Cincinnati on Nov. 14, 1922. He graduated from Withrow High School and the University of Cincinnati, where he majored in chemical engineering. He became the fifth generation of the Koch family to become a brewer, working for such local breweries as Wiedemann, Hudepohl, Burger, Bavarian,  Schoenling and Wooden Shoe.
