RESTAURANT CLOSES — A former winner of TV’s “Iron Chef” competition has closed his Cleveland-area restaurant. According to the Associated Press, Michael Symon closed his Bar Symon in Avon due to weak sales. He told The Plain Dealer that the restaurant’s location in a suburban shopping center with numerous vacancies was too much of a challenge. Symon won the Food Network’s “Next Iron Chef” competition in 2007.
