HILLSBORO — Ohioans have a fundamental right to not only own, but use and enjoy their property, according to the attorney representing a group challenging Ohio’s workplace smoking ban.
Maurice Thompson, director of the 1851 Center for Constitutional Law, made his argument last month before the Supreme Court of Ohio on behalf of Zeno’s Victorian Village, a Columbus bar which has accumulated tens of thousands of dollars in fines for alleged smoking ban violations. The court heard arguments during an on-the-road session of arguments at the Highland County Courthouse in Hillsboro.
