Flavor, Prestige Drive Al-Bev Sales In 2003

NORWALK, Conn. - Consumer demand for products with flavor and prestige drove U.S. spirits and wine sales to 10-year highs last year, according to the recently released 2004 Adams Handbook. Spirits sales climbed 3.8 percent in 2003, reaching more than 159 million nine-liter cases. Wine sales were up 4.9 percent to the highest levels since the 1980s.
