ABI Challenges MADD Stand On Checkpoints

WASHINGTON - A hospitality industry group expressed its disappointment in Mothers Against Drunk Driving's call last month for increased use of sobriety checkpoints in an effort to reduce alcohol-related traffic fatalities. Focusing on general deterrence approaches, such as sobriety checkpoints, and providing funding for such programs will be priorities for MADD this year, according to a press release from the group.
