Taxes No Substitute For Enforcement

The city of Kent is promoting a 4 cent tax for every beer purchased. The purpose of the proposed sin tax is to raise revenue to support law enforcement and pay for damages caused by ""rowdy college students."" A state law would have to be enacted allowing the electorate in cities and throughout the state the ability to pass such sin taxes.
