2007 Headline Maker: Senate Bill 16: 'Stripper' Bill
As the result of a citizen's initiative backed by Cincinnati-based Citizens for Community Values, Senate Bill 16 is introduced by Sen. Ron Amstutz (R-22, Wooster). Under the proposal, sexually oriented businesses would have to close from midnight to 6 a.m. unless they have a liquor permit. Businesses with liquor permits would be allowed to remain open during their normal operating hours, but could not allow any sexually oriented entertainment after midnight. The bill also requires nude or seminude performers to remain at least 6 feet away from patrons on a stage at least 2 feet high and prohibits performers and patrons from touching one another.
