HALL OF FAMER — Nineteenth century beer baron Christian Moerlein is first inductee in Cincinnati’s “Beer Barons Hall of Fame” planned for the Moerlein Lager House set to open in February in Smale Riverfront Park. Real Beer News reports that Moerlein, a Bavarian immigrant who established the Christian Moerlein Brewing Co. in 1853 in Cincinnati, was a logical choice as the inaugural inductee. “He was kind of the father of the brewing industry in Cincinnati,” said Mike Morgan, trustee of the Cincinnati Brewery District Community Urban Redevelopment Corp.
