Cognac Attempts To Draw More Women As Sales Increase
Published: 03/20/2012
Cognac wrapped up 2011 with a sales growth of 6.4 percent and is now focusing on appealing to a new demographic: women.
After the Bureau National Interprofessionnel du Cognac, the French cognac bureau, announced that more than five bottles of cognac were sold every second in 2011, the International Cognac Summit dedicated its January meeting to creating a cocktail aimed at attracting a larger audience of women.
The new drink, Lady Coeur, mixes VSOP cognac, orange juice, lemon juice, Champagne and pink vermouth.
