LOCAL FLAVOR — An Ohio pizza chef was a member of the U.S. Pizza Team which competed last month at the 2012 World Championship of Pizza in Salsomaggiore, Italy. Mike Amheiser of the Pizza Dock in Fredericktown was one of the U.S. team’s entrants in the gluten-free and pan pizza categories. As the reigning 2011 Team Acrobatics World Champions, the American squad returned to the competition with its members competing in three culinary categories: Classic, Gluten-Free and Pan, as well as in the Freestyle Acrobatics and Dough-Stretching categories.
