Ohio Wines Win Medals

SANTA ROSA, Calif. — Two Ohio wineries earned medals at the inaugural U.S. National Wine Competition here last month.

Debonne Vineyards of Madison took a silver medal for its 2010 Grand River Valley Riesling, while Cincinnati’s Henke Winery won bronze for 2010 Vendange A’Trois in the Red Bordeaux Type Blends category.

Judges tasted more than 1,100 wines to choose Sweepstakes Winners, Best of Class, double gold, gold, silver and bronze medal winners. The judges’ favorite for Best of Show was a cream sherry from Rancho De Philo in California.
