Bill: Violations Would Doom Permit Apps

COLUMBUS — Prompted by a perceived “snag” in Ohio law, a Cleveland lawmaker has proposed adjusting the state’s standards for retail liquor permits.

House Bill 460, sponsored by Rep. Bill Patmon, would prohibit the Division of Liquor Control from issuing, renewing or transferring the ownership or location of a retail liquor permit if the applicant or transfer has violated the state’s liquor control laws.
