ATLANTA — An Ohio-made beer was among the medalists at the recent 2012 United States Open Beer Championships.

The competition is the only brewery competition to include professional breweries and homebrewers. More than 1,650 beers represented 65 different categories.

Samuel Adams Belgian Session Beer, brewed at the Boston Beer Co. facility in Cincinnati, won a bronze medal in the Session Beer category. The medal helped Boston Beer place second in the overall brewery standings behind local favorite Sweetwater Brewing.
