Product Sampling Is Fine With Correct Permits

The Ohio Revised Code prohibits any permit holder from giving away any alcoholic beverages in connection with the permit holder’s business. Consequently, if a patron wants to sample a product prior to buying a bottle, six pack or case of an alcoholic beverage, the law prohibits a permit holder from furnishing free samples. However, the law does permit, if specific conditions are met, the sale of such samples.
