COLUMBUS — 2012 marked a sea change in the way the state of Ohio views its beverage alcohol and hospitality operators and, for once, it was a change for the better.

Signed into law in the waning days of 2011 and effective March 22, 2012, House Bill 243 created a number of significant improvements to Ohio’s liquor regulations. HB 243 was part of Gov. John Kasich’s omnibus Common Sense Initiative, a series of bills and executive orders designed to make Ohio businesses more competitive.
