I have been receiving numerous calls over the past months regarding tasting samples and growlers. So I thought I would go over these changes in Ohio’s liquor control law, which actually took effect in March 2012.

Beer manufacturers who hold an A-1 liquor permit are now authorized to sell beer products which they manufacture on the premises at retail for consumption on the premises. Prior to the change, the A-1 permit holder could only sell beer products in bottles or containers for home use and to retail and wholesale liquor permit holders and not for on-premises consumption.
