Classic Cocktails Driving Category's Comeback
Toss away any preconceived notions about brandy and cognac — images of rich old men sipping brandy from a snifter or a taste of cognac after dinner.
Now, many of the long-held images of those spirits do remain.
“Cognac in the U.S. is big with ethnic groups — Asians, African-Americans and Latinos, to a lesser extent,” said Tom Alberico, vice president of sales and marketing for Laird & Company, makers of Laird’s Rare Apple Brandy and other spirits.
Cognac has even been embraced by the hip-hop crowd — the spirit has indeed become hip.
