Gov. John Kasich signed Senate Bill 48 on April 30. Several new liquor laws were added and existing laws amended, all of which every permit holders should be aware.

SB 48 will streamline the transfer process for retailers who sell their businesses. It will support craft brewers in Ohio by making it easier for businesses to open and get product to market, and it will strengthen the three-tier system in Ohio that has been supported by the Ohio legislature for the past eight decades. The new laws take effect 90 days from the date the governor signed the bill, which is July 30.
