COLUMBUS — The Ohio Liquor Control Commission recently expanded its repertoire of penalties for rule-breaking permit holders by offering to void a portion of a permit suspension if a fine is paid.

In two cases earlier this year, the commission ordered 90-day permit suspensions for a pair of permit holders found in violation of serving an intoxicated patron. The orders state the first 30 days of the suspension are mandatory, but each permit holder is provided with the option of paying a forfeiture in lieu of serving the final 60 days of the suspension.
