Kasich Names Patrol Superintendent To Head Public Safety
COLUMBUS — Gov. John R. Kasich last month named Col. John Born, superintendent of the Ohio Highway Patrol, the new director of the Ohio Department of Public Safety, replacing the retiring Tom Charles.
Born has been with the Patrol since 1987 and was appointed Patrol superintendent in 2010. He served in an array of leadership roles, including agency spokesman, squad leader in the Office of Investigative Services, strategic services commander and field operations commander for the eastern half of Ohio
