COLUMBUS — In response to pickets last month of restaurants across the country, including Ohio, the Ohio Restaurant Association responded by pointing out how important the industry is to economic growth, job creation and career opportunities.

While the ORA agreed that freedom of speech is a fundamental right, the association said that if the protesters calling for a higher minimum wage — including union organizers, community activists and some employees who chose to walk off the job — knew more about the industry, they might have a different perspective.
