WASHINGTON — Eighty years after it voted to repeal Probibition, Ohio is enjoying economic benefits from the industry that long-ago vote created.

On Dec. 5, 1933, Ohio joined Pennsylvania and Utah as the final three states to complete the ratification of the 21st Amendment. When it took effect 10 days later, the 21st Amendment repealed the 13-year national Prohibition which was mandated by the 18th Amendment.
