COLUMBUS — Employees from the Ohio Department of Commerce played Santa Claus again this holiday season as they donated their lunch hours to repair toys for donation to needy children.

Employees of the department’s Division of Industrial Compliance and others repaired more than 470 stuffed toys last month as part of the 28th annual Norman DeHaas Holiday Sewing Project. The toys are representative samples provided to the division’s Bedding and Upholstered Furniture laboratory for inspection to ensure they are safe and accurately labeled.
