COLUMBUS — The state Controlling Board last month approved a request from the Ohio Lottery Commission for more than $22 million in increased appropriations to acquire gaming terminals for use by private clubs.

At its March 10 meeting, the Controlling Board OK’d funding of $22.5 million for the Lottery to purchase and operate up to 1,200 of the “multi-purpose, next-generation” vending machines in Lottery-licensed fraternal and veterans’ organizations. The appropriation included $9.6 million in fiscal year 2014 and more than $12.9 million in fiscal 2015.
