COLUMBUS — Legislation recently sent to Gov. John Kasich creates a program recognizing hotels and motels which meet the highest level of Ohio safety and sanitary standards.

Part of the larger Ohio Business Compliance Incentive program, created by House Bill 486 and designed to encourage business compliance with state regulations, is “Operation Safe Stay.” Hotels and motels that consistently meet the highest level of Ohio Fire Code-based fire and life safety standards and Ohio Revised Code based sanitary guidelines would be publicly designated as “Safe Stay” operations.
