COLUMBUS — Gov. John R. Kasich last month signed legislation creating an incentive program to encourage business compliance with state rules and regulations.

House Bill 486 includes the creation of the Ohio Business Compliance Incentive program, which includes a program targeting hotels and motels. “Operation Safe Stay” will publicly designate lodging operations that consistently meet the highest level of Ohio fire, life safety standards and sanitary guidelines as a “Safe Stay” establishment.

The legislation will take effect in mid-September.
