LORETTO, Ky. — Maker’s Mark has released The Tastemaker Series, a limited-edition Maker’s Mark Private Selection trio created just for the state of Ohio in partnership with OHLQ and three James Beard-nominated chefs from Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland.
The program features creations by chef Avishar Barua from Columbus, chef Vinnie Cimino from Cleveland and chef José Salazar from Cincinnati. Each chef has crafted a custom blend through the Maker’s Mark Private Barrel Selection program, drawing inspiration from their backgrounds and culinary philosophies, with a nod to their local communities. The expressions not only highlight the chefs’ individual talents but also celebrate the rich tapestry of Ohio’s food and beverage landscape.
The original cask strength bourbon used in the limited selection was aged from five-and-three-quarters to seven years. After the curated combination of staves were added, the special barrels were aged for nine weeks in the cool climate of Maker’s Mark’s limestone cellar.
All expressions of The Tastemaker Series are bottled at cask strength, which ranges from 107 to 114 proof, and have a suggested retail price of $74.99 per bottle.

According to Barua, “It’s straight-up Columbus in a glass.”
